braggin' on alli

Exhibit A

I would just like to take a moment to brag about Alli. There are many things I admire about my little sister, but one of the qualities I am most in awe (envious) of is her mad gift-giving skills. The girl can gift. She puts a lot of thought into each gift. Not only what it should be, but how it should be wrapped and in what manner it should be presented.
Please refer to Exhibit A (above).
For my 4oth birthday Alli presented me with a large, well constructed box tied with red grosgrain ribbon (none of that fake ribbon). It was fun to look at, let alone open. Inside there were 6 small gifts:
 1) A tiny cookie dough scoop tied to a tiny glass cookie jar full of tiny Alli cookies. Why? Because cookies are the absolute basis for our relationship, as they should be.
 2) A book entitled '100 things to do with your kids before they leave home'. Why? Because she sees first hand my struggle to be a good mom.
 3) A big brass #5 from Anthroplogie. Why? Because I am the 5th of 9 girls. 5 is my number.
 4) A yummy smelling candle, also from Anthropologie (She knows I would shop there if I weren't so cheap).
5) Handmade Thank You cards because I love to send thank you cards.
6) Dove Dark choc covered almonds because if I'm gonna have a treat I'm gonna go for it. They were eaten that day but you  can still see them on my hips if you look hard.
But wait! There's more.....She attached a thoughful note to each gift with more of that yummy ribbon and she let me keep the large well constructed box!
Everyone should have an alli in their life.....especially on Christmas and birthdays :)

wicked

I took Morgan and her friend Meagan to 'Wicked' last week at the Fox theater.
She has been singing the songs and watching bits and pieces of the muscial
on you tube for so long, I just had to.

It is such a cute show. We really loved it !

happy halloween

The Clone Trooper and the angel

Owen is a 'blue witch' NOT a purple wizard! Just ask him :)

Hope you all had a fun Halloween. We had a ward trunk or treat, a neighborhood Fall Festival, a scout pack meeting (costume required), 2 school parties and of course Halloween.
I am ready to move on to Thanksgiving !

our new blog

Welcome to the new blog. We missed you while we were away.
We'll just start with a photo from Spring Break in Florida.
Does the beach look inviting? We're going again in Oct. You in?

happy birthday morgan

Our little Morgie is thirteen now!
For months she has been counting on
Doug making her cake.
This is what they came up with.

family reunion

In July we all flew out to Utah for the reunion which was
held at a beautiful resort at Zion Nat'l Park.
(Although this photo is actually Bryce)
We loved seeing and being with everyone :)

beach babies

(Emory, Ally Beth, Erin, Kate, Jessica, Tabitha)
Every year at about this time, Kate and her
playgroup buddies  have their picture 'made'.
Even though they are only 4 some of them
already know how to 'work it'. So cute!
